Brindas is a pretty municipality in the foothills of the Monts du Lyonnais, west of the city of Lyon. The history of the place is deeply rooted in local culture, especially as one of the birthplaces of the famous Guignol figure, a traditional French puppet. Visitors can visit the Guignol Museum in Brindas, which documents the history of this art form. The surroundings of the community are characterized by a varied hilly landscape, which invites hiking and cycling. In the past, Brindas was primarily agriculturally oriented, but it has developed into a popular residential area for people who work in Lyon but want to live in the countryside. The architecture in the village center is typical of the Lyonnais region, with buildings made of local stone and narrow streets. Traditional festivals are held every year to celebrate local identity. The economic structure has shifted from agriculture towards services and small businesses, with proximity to Lyon playing a decisive role in the development of the community.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jun–Aug.
