Särkänniemi is a versatile amusement park in Tampere, picturesquely located on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi. The park opened in 1966 and has since evolved into one of Finland's most significant tourist destinations. In addition to numerous rides, including the spectacular Hype roller coaster, Särkänniemi has a wide range of attractions such as a planetarium, an aquarium, and the famous Näsinneula observation tower. Standing at 168 meters, Näsinneula is the tallest free-standing structure in Finland and features a rotating restaurant with panoramic views over the lake district and the city. A special highlight for families is the Koiramäki (Doghill) fairytale farm, based on the books by Mauri Kunnas, which brings 19th-century rural life to life.
