Plizio Visual Lab
The Faaborg Museum is an architectural masterpiece on the island of Funen, purpose-built to house the works of the 'Funen Painters' colony. Established in 1910 by industrialist Mads Rasmussen, the current building opened in 1915 and was designed by architect Carl Petersen. It is celebrated as a pinnacle of Danish Neoclassicism, featuring iconic mosaic floors and a distinctively bold interior color palette. The collection focuses on artists such as Johannes Larsen, Fritz Syberg, and Peter Hansen, who documented rural life and the natural beauty of Funen in the early 20th century. In addition to paintings, the museum displays sculptures by Kai Nielsen and bespoke furniture designed by Kaare Klint. The museum remains a holistic work of art, where architecture, furniture design, and visual art converge to reflect the cultural spirit of the regional artist community.
