Polje is located in the northeastern part of the island of Krk, near the municipality of Dobrinj. The village has maintained its rural charm despite being only a few kilometers from the lively coastal resorts of Šilo and Klimno. The architecture is characterized by old stone houses, often lovingly restored and now serving as exclusive villas with pools. The surroundings of Polje are enveloped by dense forests and agricultural land, which gave the village its name (Polje means 'field'). It is an excellent starting point for hikes and cycling tours across the island. Just a short drive away lies Soline Bay, famous for its healing mud, and the Biserujka cave, one of the most visited sights on Krk. In local taverns, you can sample famous Krk specialties like Šurlice (handmade pasta) with lamb goulash or the local white wine Žlahtina from Vrbnik. Polje features the first-rate balance between the peace of the interior and quick access to the beaches on the island's east coast.
