Dobrinj perches on a 200-meter-high hill in the northeast of Krk island and is one of the oldest settlements on the island. First mentioned in 1100 in a Glagolitic deed, Dobrinj is regarded as the cradle of Croatian literacy. The town's architecture is purely medieval, characterized by narrow stone alleys and ancient houses clinging to the hillside. The landmark is the Parish Church of St. Stephen, whose tall bell tower overlooks the entire region. From the terrace in front of the church, visitors can enjoy a wide-open view of Soline Bay and the mainland. Dobrinj also hosts several museums, including the Ethnographic Museum of Krk Island and the Infeld Gallery, which showcases significant contemporary art. Nearby lies the Soline Bay, famous for its healing mud and shallow, warm waters. Another highlight for nature lovers is the Biserujka Cave, located just a few kilometers away. Local cuisine in Dobrinj is famous for 'Šurlice', handmade pasta traditionally served with goulash. Dobrinj is a place where history and culture merge in a peaceful, natural environment.
