Gromača is located in the hills north of Dubrovnik and is a prime example of the traditional architecture and lifestyle of the Dubrovačko Primorje region. The village is famous for the Gromača Cave (Gromačka špilja), one of the deepest and most beautiful caves in southern Croatia, rich in stalactites and stalagmites. Gromača has kept its original charm with massive stone houses, dry-stone walls (Gromače), and ancient olive groves. In recent years, the village has become a hub for agrotourism. Visitors can sample local specialties such as homemade cheese, honey, wine, and traditional meat dishes served in farmhouse households. The surroundings offer excellent hiking trails with spectacular views of the Adriatic and the Elaphite Islands. The village proudly maintains its folklore, especially the Linđo dance, performed at local festivals. The peace of Gromača stands in stark contrast to the lively Dubrovnik, which is nevertheless only about 20 minutes away by car. Access is via the coastal road and a winding mountain road rewarded with beautiful panoramic views.
