Water temperature…
Draga Bašćanska is located in the central part of Krk Island, set in the fertile valley leading to the famous resort of Baška. The village is characterized by agriculture, especially viticulture and sheep farming, which gives the region a peaceful, rural atmosphere. The famous Glagolitic Path, documenting the history of Croatian script, runs through the settlement. The surroundings offer numerous hiking and cycling trails leading up to the barren karst plateaus, providing panoramic views of the sea and surrounding islands. In contrast to the lively beach life in Baška, Draga Bašćanska gives tranquility and authentic island flair. Historically interesting is the Church of Saint Anthony the Abbot. Local cuisine is famous for Krk lamb (Krčka janjetina) and sheep cheese. A visit is especially worthwhile in spring or autumn when temperatures are convenient for outdoor activities. The village is just a short drive from one of the Adriatic's most beautiful pebble beaches, Vela Plaža.
