Čara is located on a sun-exposed hill in the heart of Korčula island, surrounded by fertile vineyards. The village is the cradle of the famous Pošip white wine, which has been cultivated here for centuries. In the local winery, visitors can taste the fine wines known for their full-bodied aroma and golden color. In the center of the village stands the 16th-century Parish Church of St. Peter, whose bell tower defines the skyline. Below the hill, about 2 kilometers away, lies the coastal settlement of Zavalatica. This photogenic bay serves as the port for Čara and is a favorite spot for swimmers seeking crystal-clear water and tranquility. The architecture in Čara is traditional Dalmatian, with narrow streets and stone houses clinging to the hillside.
