Brist is located at the southernmost end of the Makarska Riviera, at the foot of the imposing Biokovo massif. The village is known as the birthplace of Andrija Kačić Miošić, one of the most important Croatian poets and Franciscan monks. A monument in the village center honors his legacy. The atmosphere in Brist is quiet and family-friendly, characterized by the close connection between mountains and sea. Long pebble beaches stretch along the entire village and blend seamlessly into the neighboring towns of Podaca and Gradac. A magnificent promenade (Lungomare) leads for miles along the shore, convenient for evening walks at sunset. The water here is exceptionally clear and invites swimming and diving. On the slopes above the village, old olive groves can be found, some centuries old. In local restaurants, you can enjoy fresh fish directly from the fishing boats as well as traditional Dalmatian meat dishes. Brist has preserved its original charm as there are no large hotel complexes, only predominantly private accommodations. It is a handy place for travelers seeking the natural beauty of Dalmatia in a relaxed environment.
