Momchilovtsi is a scenic village in the Central Rhodopes, situated at an altitude of about 1,070 meters. It has gained international fame through its connection to the 'Momchilovtsi' yogurt brand in China, making the village a destination for Chinese tourists. The village is considered a place of longevity, which locals attribute to the pure mountain air and the consumption of homemade yogurt containing Lactobacillus bulgaricus. The village is also a significant center for religious tourism. Surrounding the settlement are 24 small chapels that form a spiritual ring. Each of these chapels is dedicated to a different saint and can be reached via hiking trails. The village center church, 'Saints Constantine and Helena', is known for its beautiful icons and carvings. Momchilovtsi has a blend of tradition and active holidays.
