Brotas
Brotas is the premier destination for adventure sports and ecotourism in the state of São Paulo. The local tourism industry is built around the Jacaré Pepira River, one of the few unpolluted rivers in the region, which provides good conditions for white-water rafting, kayaking, and river tubing. The surrounding countryside features deep valleys and over 30 accessible waterfalls. Visitors can participate in canopy tours, zip-lining, and canyoning at various private eco-parks. The local farms also produce high-quality coffee and cachaça, and many offer rural tourism experiences with traditional countryside meals. The town is located about 250 kilometers from the state capital, accessible by car via the Bandeirantes and Washington Luís highways in approximately three hours. It is a year-round destination, but the rainy season from December to March raises the river levels, creating the best conditions for rafting.
