Beit Al Quran, meaning 'House of Qur'an', is a unique museum complex in Manama dedicated to the holy book of Islam. Opened in 1990, it houses an exceptional collection of Qur'ans and manuscripts from various periods and regions of the Islamic world. The collection was amassed by Dr. Abdul Latif Jassim Kanoo. Exhibits include Qur'anic verses on parchment dating back to the 7th century, as well as manuscripts from medieval China and Spain. A notable highlight is the first Qur'an printed in Germany in 1694. The museum itself is housed in a building inspired by traditional Islamic mosque architecture, including a distinctive minaret. In addition to the exhibition hall, the complex includes a mosque, a library, a madrasa (school), and an auditorium, making it a comprehensive Islamic center.
