Getting there
Access is via 'Eua Island, which can be reached from the main island of Tongatapu. Locally, it is best to use 4WD vehicles to reach the various rainforest trailheads.
Best season
The drier period between May and October features the most stable conditions for wildlife viewing and hiking to the park's dramatic coastal cliffs.
Terrain & paths
Visitors can expect dense, primary rainforest and rugged coastal cliffs. The trails can be steep and are often very slippery and muddy following tropical rainfall.
What to bring
Hiking gear with good traction, binoculars for bird watching, and adequate protection against both rain and sun should definitely be included in your pack.

There are no large parking lots; vehicles are usually left at the end of the traversable roads or near the accommodations located within the local villages.
Safety
