Getting there
Very easily reached by driving along the scenic coastal highways from Hat Yai or Songkhla city, with numerous side roads leading directly to various piers and lakeside viewpoints.
Best season
The cooler, slightly drier months from January to April are excellent for boat tours and bird watching, dodging the heaviest rains of the long southern monsoon.

The shoreline is a vast, mostly flat mix of bustling fishing villages, serene mangrove swamps, and muddy wetlands that transition between fresh, brackish, and saline waters.
