Ko Samui
Ko Samui is a tropical paradise in the Gulf of Thailand, offering an excellent blend of natural beauty and world-class tourist infrastructure. The island is known for its soft, white sandy beaches like Chaweng and Lamai, lapped by crystal-clear, turquoise waters. The island's interior features dense rainforests, hidden waterfalls like Na Muang, and rolling hills providing spectacular views over the archipelago. Culturally, the island has fascinating sights, including the majestic Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) and the colorful Wat Plai Laem. The curious rock formations Hin Ta and Hin Yai are also a must-see for every visitor. In addition to beach relaxation, Ko Samui provides a wide spectrum of activities: from top-tier wellness treatments and yoga retreats to exciting water sports and excursions to the nearby Ang Thong Marine National Park. The culinary scene ranges from authentic night markets with spicy Thai dishes to international gourmet restaurants by the sea. Ko Samui has its own award-winning airport and is also easily accessible by ferry from the mainland. The best time to visit is from January to April, when the weather is sunny and the sea is calm. July and August are also popular months, often offering better weather than the Andaman coast to the west.
