Dushanbe Flagpole (Tajikistan)

Weather…

The Dushanbe Flagpole stands in the center of the Tajik capital and was the tallest in the world upon its completion in 2011, reaching a height of 165 meters. It is situated directly in front of the Palace of Nations and was erected to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the country's independence. The flag itself has impressive dimensions of 60 by 30 meters and weighs over 700 kilograms, requiring specialized technical equipment for hoisting. Its construction was carried out by the international firm Trident Support and lasted several months, with the mast assembled from steel segments. The location within a spacious park area featuring fountains and monuments makes it a central landmark of the city. Although it has since been surpassed by other flagpoles, it remains a significant national symbol representing the pride and sovereignty of Tajikistan.
