Städjan (Sweden)

Weather…

Städjan is an 1,131-meter-high mountain located in northern Dalarna County, near the village of Idre. It is widely known for its striking, nearly first-rate conical shape, making it one of the most characteristic landmarks of the Swedish fells. The mountain forms the southernmost outpost of the Scandinavian mountain range in Sweden and is part of the Städjan-Nipfjället Nature Reserve. Historically, the mountain gained fame in the 17th century through Olof Rudbeck the Elder, who referred to it as the seat of the gods in his work "Atlantica." Carl Linnaeus visited Städjan in 1734 during his journey through Dalarna and documented the mountain's unique silhouette. Due to its isolated position, the summit features an unobstructed 360-degree panoramic view over the expansive forest and mountain landscapes along the Norwegian border.
