Hovärken is a prominent mountain peak in the Swedish province of Härjedalen, rising to an elevation of 1,125 meters above sea level. Located just north of the village of Lofsdalen, it is best known as the centerpiece of the local ski resort, offering some of the highest groomed slopes in Sweden. The summit provides an expansive 360-degree panoramic view, which on clear days extends to the Sonfjället National Park and the distant Helags massif. Geologically, the mountain consists of hard metamorphic rocks that have withstood the erosive forces of successive ice ages. During the winter months, the mountain is a hub for alpine skiing, while the summer season attracts hikers and mountain bikers to its well-marked trails. The vegetation transitions from dense coniferous forests at the base to alpine tundra near the summit plateau, where the tree line ends. Historically, the area was significant for traditional transhumance and Sami reindeer herding before transitioning into a major year-round tourist destination.
