Mercamadrid (Spain)

Weather…

Mercamadrid, located in the southeast of the Spanish capital, is a true city within a city and the undisputed central wholesale market for the food supply of the Iberian Peninsula. On a gigantic area of over 2.2 million square meters, life pulsates every night as thousands of trucks arrive to deliver and redistribute fresh produce from all over the world. Mercamadrid is particularly famous for its central fish market, which is the second largest in the world after the Tsukiji market in Tokyo - an amazing fact for a city located over 300 kilometers from the nearest sea. In addition to seafood, tens of thousands of tons of fruit, vegetables, and meat are handled here daily, supplying more than 12 million consumers in the greater Madrid area and far beyond.
