💡 Tips
- La Pineda's beach is long and wide, and often less crowded compared to its neighbouring resorts. Well-suited for families.
- Much of the parking is a paid 'blue zone'. Look for white lines for free parking, but they fill up quickly.
- Take advantage of the good bus service (Plana bus) to easily reach the nearby cities of Tarragona and Salou, or the PortAventura theme park.
- In the evening, the promenade (Passeig Marítim) is the best place for a stroll. You'll find plenty of restaurants and bars here.
- If you visit the Aquopolis water park, buy tickets online to save money and skip the queues at the entrance.
🍽 Food
Similar to paella but made with short noodles instead of rice. A must-try on the Costa Daurada. Look for a beachfront restaurant ('chiringuito') that specialises in it.
Another rice dish that gets its black colour from squid ink. It's usually served with aioli. Many restaurants on the promenade will offer it.
The Catalan version of crème brûlée, with a crispy caramel layer. The excellent dessert after a seafood meal.
🛍 Shopping · 🧘 Quiet spots
This is the main strip for souvenir shops, beachwear, and small boutiques. Well-suited for a spot of shopping after a day on the beach.
On Fridays, La Pineda hosts a weekly market where you can find everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to clothes and household goods.
A beautiful pine grove that gives the resort its name. A great place for a shady walk on a hot afternoon.
Take a walk along the water's edge at sunrise. It's quiet, peaceful, and you'll have the beach almost to yourself.
Along the Passeig Marítim you'll find the 'Pineda' and 'Marks of the Earth' sculpture groups. These distinctive metal sculptures offer a quiet spot for contemplation by the sea.

La Pineda is a modern coastal resort located within the municipality of Vila-seca on Catalonia's Costa Daurada. Known for its fine, golden sandy beach that slopes gently into the Mediterranean, the town is a top choice for family holidays. The three-kilometer coastline is bordered by a spacious promenade featuring Javier Mariscal's striking iron sculpture of stylized pine trees, which honors the Mediterranean stone pines that give the town its name. The Pinar de Perruquet park provides ample green space and natural shade right next to the sea. For entertainment, the Aquopolis water park is a major draw, offering a variety of slides and a dolphinarium. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby Lumine Golf Club, which features world-class courses set in a beautiful landscape. One of La Pineda's greatest advantages is its proximity to PortAventura World, one of Europe's largest theme parks, located just a few minutes away. Compared to the bustling neighbor Salou, La Pineda provides a more relaxed and spacious environment, well-suited for those seeking a mix of fun and tranquility. Local cuisine is centered on fresh seafood and traditional Catalan dishes, with many restaurants lining the seafront. The resort is easily accessible via the nearby Reus Airport, and there are frequent bus connections to Tarragona and Barcelona. The best time for a sun-and-sand holiday is between June and September, while the mild spring and autumn weather is great for exploring the Roman ruins in nearby Tarragona.
