Pineda de Mar is a peaceful seaside resort on Catalonia's Costa del Maresme, located between Calella and Santa Susanna. It has the longest beach in the region, first-rate for sunbathing and water sports. The old town features the 16th-century church of Santa Maria and remnants of a Roman aqueduct. Pineda is also a certified Family Tourism Destination, offering numerous parks and activities for children. Gastronomy highlights include fresh seafood and traditional Catalan dishes, enjoyed in the many beachfront restaurants. It's easily accessible by train from Barcelona (about an hour's ride) and Girona-Costa Brava Airport. The best time to visit is from May to September for warm weather and a lively atmosphere.
