Denis Island is a low-lying coral island located on the northeastern edge of the Seychelles Bank, approximately 60 miles north of Mahé. Spanning 1.43 square kilometers, the island was discovered in 1773 by the French explorer Denis de Trobriand and named in his honor. It is renowned for its successful conservation programs, which involved the relocation and protection of rare endemic bird species like the Seychelles fody and the Seychelles magpie-robin. A prominent landmark is the historic lighthouse dating back to 1910, which remains operational today. The island is almost entirely encircled by white sandy beaches and a shallow coral reef teeming with marine biodiversity. As Denis Island sits at the drop-off point of the continental shelf, the ocean floor plunges steeply nearby, making it a hub for deep-sea fishing and diving expeditions.

Access to this exclusive private island is typically arranged via a brief, scenic domestic flight departing from the main island of Mahé. The landing strip is set directly amidst the palm trees, meaning visitors plunge straight into the resort environment upon arrival.
