Anse Source d'Argent (Seychelles)

Weather…

Anse Source d'Argent on the island of La Digue is one of the most photographed beaches in the world, famous for its spectacular granite formations. These massive boulders, smoothed by the sea and wind, form labyrinthine structures along the shore, giving the bay an almost surreal aesthetic. The beach is protected by an offshore coral reef, resulting in very shallow and calm waters good for wading but less suited for swimming during low tide. Historically, access is closely linked to the L'Union Estate, a former coconut and vanilla plantation that now serves as an open-air museum. The environment is characterized by coconut palms and dense shrubs growing into the crevices between the rocks. Due to its unique appearance, the beach has often served as a backdrop for international film productions and advertising campaigns. Despite high visitor numbers, the beach retains an intimate atmosphere due to its division into many small sections separated by boulders. Preserving the surrounding reef structure is essential for protecting the fine sand from erosion.
