Geologically, the hill consists of solid sandstone formations that provided a stable base for medieval structures. Today, Colle del Castello is the administrative and cultural center of Domagnano, which has preserved its historical core despite modern development. The view from the hill extends across the Ausa valley to the Adriatic Sea.
