Nu'utele Island (Samoa)

Weather…

Nu'utele Island is the largest of the Aleipata Islands located off the eastern coast of Upolu, encompassing an area of approximately 1.08 square kilometers. The island is the remnant of an extinct volcanic crater, characterized by steep cliffs that rise up to 200 meters from the Pacific Ocean floor. Having been uninhabited for a long period, it has become a critical sanctuary for endangered species, most notably the friendly ground dove. Geologically, Nu'utele consists of volcanic tuff that has been sculpted by erosion over millennia. The vegetation is a dense coastal rainforest covering nearly the entire landmass, representing one of the best-preserved ecosystems in Samoa. Today, Nu'utele serves primarily scientific and conservation purposes, with access strictly regulated to maintain the delicate balance of its indigenous flora and fauna.
