Nu'ulua Island (Samoa)

Weather…

Nu'ulua is a small, uninhabited island in the Aleipata district of Samoa, located just south of Nu'utele. With an area of approximately 0.25 square kilometers, it is the second largest in the group and plays an essential role in regional conservation. The island is of volcanic origin and is characterized by steep slopes and dense vegetation that serves as a nesting ground for many seabird species. Most notably, the island is free from invasive species like rats, making it one of the safest breeding areas in the entire Pacific region. The surrounding coral reefs are part of a protected marine area and house a high diversity of marine life. Historically, the island was occasionally used by fishermen, but it has remained largely untouched due to its inaccessibility. Today, it is recognized as a nature reserve of international importance and is regularly monitored for ecological changes.
