Faleasiu is a large and traditional village on the northwestern coast of the island of Upolu in Samoa. Located in the A'ana district, it is known for its strong cultural identity and its role in Samoan history. The village extends along the coastal road and consists of several sub-units, each led by its own family clans (Aiga). Faleasiu has a significant connection to the country's early missionary history, particularly the London Missionary Society (LMS), whose influence is still visible today in the village's imposing church buildings. Geographically, the region is characterized by a narrow coastal plain and fertile hinterland, which is intensively cultivated for personal use and the local market. Residents maintain Fa'a Samoa (the Samoan way of life), with social structures and ceremonies playing a central role. Faleasiu is also an important transport hub between the capital Apia and Faleolo International Airport. Archaeological sites are found in the immediate vicinity, indicating a long history of settlement.
