Wadi Darbat (Oman)

Weather…

Wadi Darbat, located in the Dhofar region near Salalah, is one of Oman's most striking natural attractions. During the annual monsoon, known as the Khareef (from June to September), the arid landscape transforms into a lush, green oasis. The wadi fills with water, forming a large lake and a series of cascading waterfalls. The main waterfall tumbles over a 100-meter-high travertine cliff, creating a spectacular scene. Visitors can enjoy boat rides on the lake or have picnics along its banks. The area becomes a grazing ground for camels, cows, and goats, which roam freely, adding to the pretty landscape. Outside of the Khareef season, the wadi is drier, but its dramatic rock formations and year-round pools of water still make it a worthwhile visit. There are also several ancient caves in the area, some containing prehistoric rock art.
