Rundu Agricultural Region

Rundu, the capital of the Kavango East Region, is situated on the banks of the Okavango River and serves as the center of a fertile agricultural region in northern Namibia. Farming here relies heavily on the perennial water supply from the river, which supports both subsistence cultivation and commercial agricultural projects. The local population primarily grows mahangu (pearl millet), maize, and sorghum, which are staple crops of the region.
