Ntchisi Forest Reserve

Ntchisi Forest Reserve is an ecological sanctuary in central Malawi, located about 80 kilometers north of Lilongwe. It is home to some of the last remaining patches of primary rainforest in the country, standing as a verdant island amidst a landscape of hills and farmland. Reaching altitudes of up to 1,600 meters, the reserve enjoys a cool, misty climate that sustains ancient giant trees and a lush undergrowth of ferns and wild orchids. The forest is a haven for wildlife, including velvet monkeys, blue monkeys, and large troops of baboons, while also being a premier destination for birdwatchers.
