Rosport is situated directly on the banks of the Sauer River in eastern Luxembourg, forming the border with Germany in the canton of Echternach. The village is internationally recognized as the home of Sources Rosport, the country's sole mineral water producer, operating since the 1950s. Historically, Rosport is closely associated with Henri Tudor, the inventor of the first practical lead-acid accumulator, who lived and worked here. The Tudor Manor now houses an interactive museum dedicated to electricity and the inventor's groundbreaking innovations. Geographically, the region is characterized by steep rock formations and dense forests typical of the Müllerthal region. The dam on the Sauer River not only generates hydroelectric power but also serves as a hub for water sports activities in the border area. The neo-Gothic pilgrimage chapel of Girsterklaus, located within the municipality, is considered one of the oldest religious monuments in Luxembourg.
