While its origins date back to the 15th century, the current residential tower reached its final form in 1848 during a renovation led by Egon Rheinberger. The building is situated in the heart of the Abtswingert vineyard, a historic plot that once belonged to the Monastery of St. Johann in the Thur Valley. Since 1848, the property has been owned by the Rheinberger family, who have played a significant role in Liechtenstein's cultural history. The architectural complex combines medieval structural elements with 19th-century historicism, making it a prominent landmark in the capital's cityscape. It features a characteristic tower and an attached 'Torkel' or wine press, reflecting the long-standing tradition of viticulture in the region.
