Iki Island, located in the Tsushima Strait within Nagasaki Prefecture, is one of Japan's most striking island getaways. It is renowned for its emerald green waters and brilliant white sand beaches. Tsutsujiahama Beach (筒城浜) is widely regarded as one of the best in the country, featuring shallow waters great for families. Other notable coastal spots include Nishikihama Beach (錦浜) and the expansive Ohama Beach (大浜), both offering excellent conditions for relaxation and water activities. Visitors can also enjoy the serene Moon Beach (ムーンビーチ) and the calm waters of Satohama (里浜海水浴場). The pristine landscapes of Kiyoshiahama (清石浜) and Kushiyama (串山海水浴場) are sweeping, while Shiotaru (塩樽海水浴場) features a unique natural charm. Beyond its beaches, Iki is famous for its gourmet offerings, particularly Iki beef and fresh sea urchin (uni). The island is a spiritual hub, home to over a thousand shrines. It is easily accessible by high-speed ferry from Hakata (Fukuoka) or Karatsu. The laid-back atmosphere and idyllic scenery make Iki a first-rate retreat from the mainland bustle.
