Getting there
Located near Tottori City, reachable by bus or car from the Tottori train station. The entrance is well-marked with visitor centers and signage.
Best season
Spring and autumn are the most pleasant times to visit. Winter can be surprisingly cold with occasional snow, and summer sand can be scorching hot.
Terrain & paths
Massive, rolling dunes of fine sand reaching up to 50 meters in height. Walking uphill in the loose sand can be physically demanding for most visitors.
