💡 Tips
- Use the Roma Nord railway (Ferrovia Roma Nord) to reach central Rome quickly and avoid the notorious traffic on Via Flaminia.
- The area is a fantastic base for exploring the Veio Regional Park; wear sturdy shoes as the Etruscan trails can be uneven.
- Parking here is much easier than in central Rome, making it a well-suited park-and-ride location if you're arriving by car.
- Keep in mind that as a residential district, many small shops and local businesses strictly observe the afternoon rest (riposo).
🍽 Food

Labaro, part of Rome's XV Municipality, is a district with a rich history dating back to Roman times. It's strategically located along the Via Flaminia, one of the most important consular roads that connected Rome to northern Italy. The district's name is believed to derive from the Labarum, the military standard of Emperor Constantine, raised nearby after the famous Battle of the Milvian Bridge. Today, Labaro is a predominantly modern residential area, offering a quieter alternative to the bustling city center. Although mainly residential, Labaro's surroundings offer notable attractions. The Veio Regional Park, a vast green area containing archaeological remains of the Etruscan city of Veii, is in the immediate vicinity and is convenient for walking and cycling. Another highlight is the Villa of Livia at Prima Porta, famous for its beautiful garden frescoes. The proximity to the Tiber River also creates recreational opportunities. Labaro is well-connected to the center of Rome. The FC3 (Roma-Nord) suburban train line directly links the district to Piazzale Flaminio, near Piazza del Popolo. This makes it a convenient base for exploring the Eternal City while residing in a calmer environment. Thanks to its location, any season is suitable for a visit, with spring and autumn offering particularly pleasant temperatures for exploring the parks and archaeological sites.
