Bahá'í Terraces (Israel)

Weather…

The Bahá'í Terraces in Haifa stretch across 19 terraces on the northern slope of Mount Carmel, serving as the spiritual administrative center of the Bahá'í Faith. At the heart of the complex lies the Shrine of the Báb, whose 40-meter-high golden dome is a prominent feature of the Haifa skyline. The gardens were designed by architect Fariborz Sahba and were officially opened to the public in 2001. The layout combines geometric precision with lush vegetation, where water features and ornate stonework create an atmosphere of serenity and contemplation. The 19 terraces represent symbolic steps and extend for about one kilometer up the mountain slope. In 2008, the Bahá'í Holy Places in Haifa and Western Galilee were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The gardens are meticulously maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers from around the world, ensuring the preservation of over 450 species of plants and the garden's pristine aesthetic.
