💡 Tips
- The city is quite spread out; having a rental car is best to reach the nature reserves and beaches efficiently.
- During the Shabbat (Friday evening to Saturday evening), most shops and public transport cease operating; plan accordingly.
- Some sections of Gador Beach lack lifeguards; for your safety, swim only in designated areas when a lifeguard is on duty.
- In winter, the warm water outflow at the Orot Rabin power plant park sometimes attracts sharks, making it a unique viewing spot.
- Summers are very hot and humid; visit the coastal nature reserves early in the morning to avoid the intense midday sun.

Hadera, located on the Mediterranean coast midway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, is a city characterized by its pioneer history and strategic industrial importance. Founded in 1891 by members of the First Aliyah, the settlement faced severe hardships including malaria, which led to the extensive planting of eucalyptus trees to drain the surrounding swamps. Today, Hadera is most famous for the Orot Rabin Power Plant, whose massive chimneys are prominent landmarks and provide a significant portion of Israel's electricity. The city has undergone significant urban renewal in recent years, with the development of modern seaside neighborhoods and large-scale commercial centers. Natural attractions include the Hadera River Park and some of the last remaining sand dunes in the region. The city also hosts Technoda, a premier interactive science and technology education center. Hadera's evolution from a struggling agricultural colony to a major energy and logistics hub reflects the broader growth of modern Israel.
