Getting there
Most commonly approached via the scenic Tai Tam Country Trail, starting from either Parkview or Wong Nai Chung Gap. The hike commences almost immediately with a demanding series of ascending stairs.
Best season
The period from late winter to early spring is widely considered the best time to visit, as the mountain's famous wildflowers burst into bloom. Crisp, clear skies offer truly magnificent views.
Terrain & paths
The journey involves navigating a challenging mix of uneven dirt paths and hundreds of steep stone steps up to the 433-meter summit. The exposed ridge provides very little natural shade.
What to bring
Sturdy trekking poles are highly recommended to assist with the punishing descents. Carry abundant water supplies, excellent sun protection, and trail shoes with very dependable grip.
Parking
Finding parking at the Wong Nai Chung Gap trailhead is famously difficult due to severe space limitations. Taking a local taxi or public bus to the starting point is overwhelmingly preferred.
