Water temperature…
Saarburg is one of the most scenic towns on the Saar River, offering a natural spectacle rarely seen in urban settings: right in the middle of the city, the Leukbach stream plunges 20 meters over rocky cascades. Surrounding this impressive waterfall, which historically powered local watermills, are winding alleys and half-timbered houses that have earned the area the nickname of Little Venice. High above the old town sit the ruins of Saarburg Castle, founded in the 10th century by Count Siegfried of Luxembourg; a short climb to the top rewards visitors with expansive views over the vineyard-covered Saar valley. The town also has a rich bell-founding tradition. At the former Mabilon bell foundry, now a museum, the centuries-old craft of casting bronze bells is meticulously preserved and displayed. Saarburg is not only a center for viticulture, especially known for its excellent steep-slope Riesling wines, but also a major hub for cyclists traveling the Saar Cycle Route. Taking the chairlift up to the Warsberg plateau provides sweeping panoramas and access to a summer toboggan run, making it a highly popular destination for families.
