- Take a walk or bike ride along the continuous beach promenade all the way to the Polish town of Świnoujście.
- On a rainy day, the OstseeTherme Usedom features a welcome change with its saunas and warm pools.

🍽 Food
Look for this local specialty on the menus of restaurants near the beach.
A must-try on the Baltic coast. Grab one from one of the small vendors right on the promenade.
Cross the border into Świnoujście and try the famous filled dumplings at one of the first restaurants you see.
🛍 Shopping · 🧘 Quiet spots
Just across the border, you'll find a large market that's very popular with German visitors. Great for inexpensive goods and groceries.
Along the main road parallel to the beach, you'll find small boutiques and souvenir shops.
The eastern part of the beach and promenade is often quieter than the area around the pier.
The nearby nature reserve around the lake provides peaceful hiking trails away from the coastal life.
Explore the streets one row behind the promenade to discover splendid, quiet villas in the resort architecture style.

Ahlbeck is famous for its iconic pier with its characteristic red roofs and four corner towers, completed in 1898 and remaining almost unchanged since then. Together with Heringsdorf and Bansin, Ahlbeck forms the ensemble of the Imperial Spas. The town exudes timeless elegance, highlighted by the many white villas in resort architecture style along Dünenstraße. A special landmark in front of the pier is the historic Art Nouveau pedestal clock, a gift from a grateful spa guest in 1911. Due to its proximity to the Polish border, Ahlbeck is a handy starting point for cross-border excursions. The promenade connects the town directly to Świnoujście. The fine, white sandy beach is particularly wide here, offering convenient conditions for families. In addition to beach activities, Ahlbeck is a state-recognized health spa and has numerous curative and wellness treatments. In the winter months, the town is known for traditional 'ice swimming,' which attracts thousands of spectators annually. Culinarilly, one should try the Pomeranian fish soup or smoked fish, which has a long tradition in the region.
