Tettnang is located in the Bodensee district of Baden-Württemberg, about nine kilometers northeast of Friedrichshafen. The town is internationally renowned for its hops, which are exported to breweries worldwide. The Tettnang Hop Museum documents the long history and specialized techniques of hop cultivation. Historically, Tettnang served as the residence of the Counts of Montfort, whose legacy is preserved in three distinct palaces: the Old Castle, the New Castle, and the Gate Castle (Torschloss). The New Castle is particularly noted as one of the most splendid Baroque palaces in the Lake Constance region. Beyond agriculture, Tettnang has grown into a significant industrial hub, particularly in electronics and sensor technology, with major employers like ifm electronic located there. Its location near Lake Constance and the Alps makes it a prime destination for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. The region's mild climate supports not only hops but also extensive fruit orchards, surrounding the town with lush greenery.
