Freudenstadt City Festival
Each year on the first July weekend the festival turns Germany's largest market square into a colorful festival mile. With free admission it offers live music, handicrafts and Black Forest specialties.

Freudenstadt is located in the northern Black Forest on a sunny high plateau at an altitude of 728 meters. The city was designed on the drawing board at the end of the 16th century as a residence city, which is reflected in its striking, checkerboard-like layout. The centerpiece is the square market square, which, with its surrounding arcades, is considered the largest of its kind in Germany. In the Second World War, the center was almost completely destroyed, but was rebuilt in the historical style. Today, Freudenstadt is a major tourist destination that impresses with its pure air and proximity to the Black Forest National Park. Economically, in addition to tourism, medium-sized companies from mechanical engineering and metal processing play an important role. The city serves as a central hub for transport routes in the Black Forest and has a high quality of life with numerous parks.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jun–Aug.
