Villeneuve-la-Garenne is a relatively young French commune in the Hauts-de-Seine department, situated in a prominent loop of the Seine north of the capital city, Paris. Originally, the area was a small fishing and farming hamlet belonging to the neighboring city of Gennevilliers before gaining administrative independence in 1929. The urban planning of the 20th century shaped its current appearance, featuring a mix of residential neighborhoods and significant economic zones. A standout feature is the Parc des Chanteraines, a green lung spanning over 80 hectares that gives artificial lakes, extensive walking paths, and even a small animal farm. The city serves as an important hub in the Île-de-France region and has transformed from an industrially dominated zone into a modern residential location, benefiting greatly from its proximity to the La Défense business district and the center of Paris.
