Villebon-sur-Yvette is a dynamic municipality in the Essonne department, located about 20 kilometers south of Paris. The town stretches from the Yvette river valley up to the Plateau de Saclay, considered one of Europe's most significant science and technology hubs. This geographical division shapes the townscape: while the valley is more residential and green, the plateau hosts major research institutions and corporations. Villebon has managed to preserve its natural environment, reflected in its numerous parks and the Yvette riverbank area. Historically, the Château de Villebon, a magnificent 17th-century structure, is a standout landmark. Economically, the town is a key pole in southern Île-de-France due to its business parks and the large Villebon 2 shopping center. Excellent links to the RER rail lines make the town a highly desirable residential location for scientists and commuters alike.
