Le Mée-sur-Seine is a pretty commune in the Seine-et-Marne department, located approximately 40 km southeast of Paris. It lies along a scenic bend of the Seine river, directly adjacent to the historic town of Melun. The town is widely recognized for its commitment to preserving nature within an urban setting, boasting four major public parks that cover a significant portion of its territory. During the late 20th century, Le Mée underwent significant expansion, evolving from a rural village into a modern residential hub while maintaining a peaceful suburban character. The local economy is integrated into the larger Melun Val de Seine metropolitan area, with a focus on services, education, and light commerce.
