Courdimanche is a multi-layered commune in the Val-d'Oise department, located about 30 km northwest of Paris. It is uniquely divided into two distinct parts: the old 'Village' on the hill and the modern residential districts below. The hilltop village retains its medieval atmosphere, centered around the historic Saint-Martin Church, which dates back to the 12th century and gives panoramic views of the Oise valley. In the late 20th century, Courdimanche became part of the 'Ville Nouvelle' of Cergy-Pontoise, leading to a planned expansion that added modern housing, schools, and parks. The town is situated at the gateway to the Vexin Français Regional Natural Park, providing residents with exceptional access to nature and outdoor recreation. Courdimanche is known for its commitment to environmental sustainability and its high number of pedestrian walkways. With a strong community spirit, the town hosts various cultural festivals and sports events throughout the year. Its accessibility via the RER A train line makes it a popular residential choice for professionals working in Paris or the business district of La Défense.
