From May to June this classical and jazz festival, founded in 1983, brings internationally acclaimed artists to the Vallee-aux-Loups estate and historic sites of Chatenay-Malabry.
Châtenay-Malabry, located in the wooded green belt of the Hauts-de-Seine department, is a well-suited destination for those interested in botany and history. The town is home to the Vallée-aux-Loups estate, featuring the former residence of the writer François-René de Chateaubriand. The historic building now serves as a museum, surrounded by a densely wooded landscape park. Directly adjacent is the extensive Vallée-aux-Loups Arboretum, which houses hundreds of rare tree species, including a notable bonsai collection and a rare weeping Atlas cedar tree. A section of the vast Parc de Sceaux also borders the municipality, defined by the long avenues and canals designed by landscape architect André Le Nôtre. The urban architecture displays remarkable diversity, ranging from old villas to the well-known garden city (Cité-jardin) public housing estate from the 1920s. Châtenay-Malabry successfully combines expansive botanical gardens, literary history, and quiet residential streets just south of Paris.
