Weather…

Pont-Aven, located in Finistère, Brittany, is world-renowned as the workplace of Paul Gauguin. In the late 19th century, dozens of artists flocked here, drawn by the unique light and rustic landscape. Today, the Museum of Fine Arts houses an impressive collection of works from the famous 'Pont-Aven School.' The village stretches along the Aven River, where 14 watermills once operated. A walk along the 'Promenade des moulins' leads past granite houses and blooming gardens. A particularly romantic spot is the 'Bois d'Amour' (Wood of Love), which served as an inspiration for Gauguin. The tides affect the river flow right into the heart of the village, creating a constantly changing scenery. Besides art, Pont-Aven is famous for its gastronomy, especially the 'Galettes de Pont-Aven,' buttery biscuits baked here according to a traditional recipe since 1890. The nearby coastline and the port of Port-Manec'h offer excellent opportunities for hiking and sailing. The best time to visit is late spring or summer when the gardens are in full bloom.
