La Mulatière is a small but strategically significant municipality directly bordering the city of Lyon. It is situated on the right bank of the Saône and Rhône rivers, precisely where the two meet. This location historically made the town a key transport hub, especially during the Industrial Revolution when large railway facilities and workshops were established here.
