Cairo International Stadium (Egypt)

Weather…

The Cairo International Stadium is Egypt's premier multi-purpose sports facility, serving as the home ground for the Egyptian national football team and the legendary clubs Al Ahly and Zamalek. Opened in 1960 during the presidency of Gamal Abdel Nasser, it was originally known as Nasser Stadium. With a current capacity of approximately 75,000 spectators, it ranks among the largest stadiums in Africa and is designed to Olympic standards. The facility was designed by the German architect Werner March, who is also famous for designing the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. Over the decades, it has hosted numerous prestigious events, including several Africa Cup of Nations finals and the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup. A significant renovation in 2005 modernized the seating and infrastructure, ensuring the stadium remains a central hub for Egyptian sports and national pride.
